The Skywatcher 150mm Solar Filterallows you to view the sun and solar phenomena safely.
Equipped with Baader’s Astro Solar Safety Film, this solar filter performs just as well as high quality plane-parallel glass filters. Metal coatings are uniformly distributed along both sides of the film’s surface. This ensures good color balance from edge to edge.
The Skywatcher Solar Filter for Refractor Telesopes, allows you to see the details in sunspots, bright faculae near the limb and the mottled areas known as granules. The sun is one of the most interesting objects in the sky and its details can only be unlocked when viewed safely through a solar film.
The film transmits 1/100,000 of visible light (.001%) while reflecting (blocking) 99.999%of unwanted light. The film significantly decreases harmful ultraviolet rays and infrared light. Baader Astro Solar film has also been declared safe for direct solar viewing by the German National Bureau of Standards for eye safety.
